Plastic Pallet Sizes Explained: 1200×1000, 1200×800, 1100×1100 & 1200×1200

The correct plastic pallet size depends on your warehouse racks, product dimensions, forklift or pallet-jack setup, transport system and supply-chain requirements. A pallet that is suitable for one warehouse may be inefficient or incompatible with another.

This guide compares four important footprints available within the NexGen plastic pallet range: 1200×1000 mm, 1200×800 mm, 1100×1100 mm and 1200×1200 mm.

1200×1000 mm Plastic Pallets

The 1200×1000 mm footprint is a highly versatile industrial pallet size. It can be suitable for warehousing, manufacturing, distribution and logistics where racks, products and handling equipment are designed around this footprint.

NexGen offers several configurations in this size, including 3-runner, 5-runner, 6-runner and 9-leg designs. The correct configuration depends on load requirements and whether the pallet will be used on the floor, during forklift transport or in racking.

Consider 1200×1000 mm when:

1200×800 mm Plastic Pallets

The 1200×800 mm footprint is commonly associated with the European pallet format. Businesses connected to European supply chains or equipment designed around this footprint may prefer this size.

However, the term “Euro size” describes the footprint; buyers should still check the exact plastic pallet design, height, runner configuration, load rating and compatibility with their own equipment.

Consider 1200×800 mm when:

1100×1100 mm Plastic Pallets

The 1100×1100 mm footprint provides a square loading area and is used in selected industrial applications. It can be useful where the shape of the load benefits from a square pallet base.

NexGen's ST-15 Jumbo Pallet uses this footprint and is designed for demanding material-handling requirements.

Consider 1100×1100 mm when:

1200×1200 mm Plastic Pallets

A 1200×1200 mm pallet provides a larger square footprint. This can be useful for wide products, specific industrial loads or operations where symmetrical loading is beneficial.

NexGen's ST-04 Reversible Pallet is an example of a 1200×1200 mm configuration.

Consider 1200×1200 mm when:

Does Pallet Size Affect Load Capacity?

Yes, but dimensions alone do not determine strength. Two pallets with identical external dimensions can have very different static, dynamic and racking capacities.

Load performance also depends on material, pallet weight, deck geometry, runner design, reinforcement and overall engineering.

See our plastic pallet selection guide for more information about static, dynamic and racking loads.

Does Pallet Size Affect Price?

Size can influence plastic pallet cost because different footprints use different amounts of material and require different mould and structural designs. However, load capacity, resin, runner configuration, reinforcement and order quantity also affect pricing.

Check Rack Compatibility Before Ordering

Do not select a pallet only because its external dimensions look suitable. For racking applications, confirm the rack beam spacing, pallet orientation, required racking load and the way the pallet is supported.

The same rule applies to automated warehouses: conveyors, rollers, chain systems and pallet stops may require specific pallet dimensions and underside geometry.

Check Forklift and Pallet-Jack Compatibility

External dimensions are only one part of pallet compatibility. Buyers should also confirm fork-entry height, runner spacing, entry direction and underside design.

Before a large order, provide your handling-equipment requirements so the selected model can be checked against the application.

Match the Pallet to the Product

A suitable pallet should support the load without unnecessary product overhang. Excessive overhang can expose cartons or products to handling damage, while a pallet that is much larger than the load can waste storage and transport space.

Consider carton dimensions, bag dimensions, drums, boxes or other load units when selecting the footprint.

Which Plastic Pallet Size Is Best for UAE Warehouses?

There is no single best size for every UAE warehouse. The correct footprint is the one that matches your racks, goods, handling equipment, transport system and customer requirements.

Before choosing a pallet size

Confirm your required length and width, static load, dynamic load, racking load, forklift or pallet-jack requirements, rack configuration and product dimensions.

How to Request the Correct Pallet

  1. Specify the required pallet length and width.
  2. Provide your product or load dimensions.
  3. Confirm static and dynamic load requirements.
  4. State whether the pallet will be used in racking.
  5. Provide forklift or pallet-jack requirements.
  6. Identify your industry and operating environment.
  7. Provide the required quantity and delivery location.

NexGen Plastic Industry L.L.C manufactures and supplies multiple plastic pallet sizes and configurations for warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, food-processing, pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
